The Canfield Learning Styles Inventory (CLSI) was originally developed by Albert Canfield.  The objective is to measure your individual l learning styles in four areas: content, conditions, modes and expectancy scores. Each of these areas will be explained further in the assessment report prepared once the questions are completed. Click here to read more on the Canfield Learning Style Inventory, this implementation of the inventory and review other references on learning styles in general and the CLSI in particular.

The assessment process involves the following steps:

  1. Enter your name and e-mail information, which is used in creation of your personal assessment report. This information is not saved in our database unless you grant permission to do so.
  2. Enter some personal information including gender, age and school. This information is used for research purposes and cannot be associated with you unless you grant permission to save your name and e-mail address in step 1.
  3. Answer the 30 questions in the assessment.
  4. Review your report and send a copy to your e-mail address.

This implementation of the Canfield Learning Styles Inventory has been modified to include information about your learning style and its suitability for distance education courses using either a blended delivery option (classroom and online) or an online only delivery option. More information about the distance education recommendations can be found here.
